Who it is for

Citizen reports and complaints arrive by phone or at the counter, pass between offices, and citizens keep asking. The exact location and photos get lost on the way. You also need residents' priorities before choosing projects. In the Governorate App a citizen files a report with its location and photos, tracks it, and votes on proposals for their area.

How a working day runs

The citizen taps the plus button and picks a type. A report flags something that disturbs public comfort, a complaint covers a cut or weak basic service, and a proposal suggests better services. They choose the governorate, pin the spot on the map, describe the place and the event, and attach photos or video. The request goes to the administrative center and appears under its tab in the citizen's list, with its status and latest update. The home screen gathers the latest updates. In the proposals section, citizens read others' proposals, sort them by votes, and vote for what they want in their area. A statistics screen shows last month's completed work in their governorate, then the latest news.

What makes the difference

  • Citizens pin the report on the map and attach photos or video, so it arrives complete the first time.
  • Citizens see each request's status and latest update, so they know where it stands without visiting or calling.
  • Project proposals are ranked by votes, so your organization sees what residents want before it decides.
  • A statistics screen shows what was completed in the citizen's governorate last month, so they can see progress for themselves.

How it is built

We built the app in Flutter so it reaches citizens' different phones from one codebase. Firebase stores reports, proposals and votes, so each new status shows up for the citizen as soon as it is recorded. Maps pins each report to its exact spot. A REST API lets the organization's other systems exchange the same records with the app.

Questions buyers ask

Who owns the app and the citizens' data?

The app belongs to the organization that commissioned it, and so do the reports and proposals; the contract sets any hosting or support we provide after launch.

Can the app be linked to the organization's other systems?

Yes. The app has an API that lets other systems read and exchange the same records with it, so the organization's systems can reach reports without copying them by hand.

Do citizens see what their reports achieve?

The statistics screen shows what was completed in the citizen's governorate and across the country last month, followed by the latest news. In the proposals section they see which projects drew the most votes.
